massage Therapy

Spire is pleased to offer sports injury massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage and therapeutic options to supplement our patients’ wellness plan. Massage therapy involves movement of soft tissue structures in the body including muscle, fascia, ligaments, tendons and more. Massage therapy can assist in alleviating muscle tension and decreasing pain by promoting blood and lymphatic flow. These changes are often associated with an overall feeling of relaxation and stress reduction. We welcome all ages and populations including perinatal and paediatric clients.

Pelvic Health

Spire’s Team of Pelvic Health trained Physiotherapists provide a functional and whole-body approach to pelvic floor rehabilitation. The pelvic floor musculature is one part of a larger system and we pride ourselves on not only treating this muscle group but its integration with the body as a whole. Our Pelvic Health Therapists are certified to perform internal examinations, which includes the ability to assess vaginally or rectally if required. Not all assessment and treatment require an internal component if it is not within the patient’s comfort. As an alternative, there are many external treatment approaches that can help address pelvic floor related concerns. Each visit will include patient specific education, internal and/or external hands-on treatment, as well as exercise and movement guidance. We are prepared to address all the difficult subjects that encompass pelvic health in a safe, supportive and motivating environment.

OTHER SERVICES

  • Acupuncture treatment involves inserting fine monofilament needles into specific areas of the body referred to as acupuncture points. The goal of acupuncture is to stimulate the release of endorphins which are the body’s natural pain-relieving neuro-hormones. Acupuncture affects the body’s natural healing abilities by promoting a decrease in inflammation and increase in circulation, therefore supporting a reduction of pain and improved function. Acupuncture practice comes from centuries of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the World Health Organization supports its use as a reliable therapy for multiple conditions.

    BOOK NOW

  • Functional Dry Needling® involves repeatedly inserting a fine monofilament needle in a muscle in order to release shortened bands of muscles and decrease trigger point activity. This may help resolve pain and muscle tension and improve function. This treatment is different from traditional Chinese Acupuncture and requires specific certification, medical diagnoses and skilled palpation for efficacy.
